Fetch Quest  was made for round 2 GDKO 2025.

The task this round was to create a compelling narrative but also incorporate a projectile and an animal that is integral to the gameplay. So with that in mind, officially this a fetch simulator with a long preamble....

Actually, this a story about about loss and coming to terms with it. I really did start out trying to follow every point in the assignment but, during the process of creating the game it started to go in a slightly different direction  and I  decided to just go with it.

I hope you find it enjoyable.

I would have liked to flesh everything out a bit more but the nature of game jams is that you have to work within the time limit so here we are.

I should note that there is a glitch that I couldn't sort where the ball may stutter for a moment upon returning the player if they are not moving. It doesn't affect gameplay.. it just looks weird. :)

  • D / right arrow / d-pad-right /  analog stick right: Move Right
  • A / left arrow / d-pad-left /  analog-stick-left: Move Left
  • Space / gamepad X: Jump
  • X/ period / gamepad A: Toss Ball
  • W / up arrow / gamepad Y: Interact with NPC / Progress conversation
